Why do I have 15 icon slots? more importantly, why do I have 15 icon slots NOW, after losing the Starbuck=The Stig, Tigh=Jeremy Clarkscum icon!?
(it still says I have a free account so... I'm sure I used to only have 6 slots...)

As many of you have already noticed, we've increased the icon limits!
The new limits are:
Free accounts: 15 icons
