Question for firefox hackers

Is there a FireFox plugin that would allow me to open up tvtropes pages in a form that would keep all the text there, but make all the links inoperative and thereby neutralising its time sucking capabilities?

Or has everyone who's attempted to make such an addon gotten to the stage of testing it, and then lost all the time they meant to spend making the addon clicking on tvtropes links forever?
